Welcome to my blog.

This is where you can talk to me about anything.

I will make posts and you can comment on them as I make them.

I hope you enjoy your stay.

Please sign the guest book, on my main site (link is to the right) so that I know who you are when you visit.

I just realized there is a 3 minute wait between being able to comment. I have no control over this. It is apparently in the template for the blog, and I can't find where it is. If anyone can suggest where to look so I can change it, please let me know.

Thanks again for visiting.

What is Malala Day?

Malala Day celebrates the birthday of Malala Yousafzai, the girl who was shot for bravely defying the Taliban and attending school. This year, she has traveled to Nigeria to see the plight of girls, like her, in great danger for simply going to school.

I think everyone no matter whether you're rich or poor, what race you are, what country you live in, whether or not you have a disability, or whether you're male or female, should be able to have an education.

What these girls are going through, most of us can't even fathom.  We have an education system that allows us to be able to go to whatever school we choose to.  These girls don't have that choice.  They are forced NOT to go to school, and Malala stood up for her right to do so, and got SHOT for it.

Malala's Birthday Wish
No one should face the fear of knowing that they'd be shot if they tried to go to school.  I think Malala is doing a good thing for the girls of the world that can't speak for themselves.  I agree with her that we "need to raise our voices" and show those in power that we are not going to go down without a fight.

Malala Day Social
Although I'm posting this a day late, it shouldn't matter.  Everyday should be Malala Day.  We should never forget those that were not "born free" and are not allowed the many freedoms that most of the world takes for granted.

We should never forget that people die for causes like this every day of the year.  Every day should be Malala Day for every woman, boy, and girl to be able to have an education and a chance at a better future.

I'm posting a link to this post on FaceBook.  If you agree with my post, please make a comment there so that Malala and the rest of the world knows that they are not alone in their thoughts of wanting an education.

Thank You!

Due to a power outage, only one Paramedic responded to the call. The house was very dark so the Paramedic asked Kathleen, a 3-yr old Girl, to hold a flashlight high over Her Mommy so He could see while He helped deliver the Baby.

Very diligently, Kathleen did as She was asked. Mommy pushed and pushed and after a little while, Connor was born. The Paramedic lifted Him by His little feet and spanked Him on His bottom. Connor began to cry.

The paramedic then thanked Kathleen for Her help and asked the wide-eyed 3-yr old what She thought about what She had just witnessed.

Kathleen quickly responded, "He shouldn't have crawled in there in the first place......smack His Ass again!"

This elderly lady went to the doctor for a checkup. Everything checked out fine. The old lady pulled the doctor to the side and said, "Doctor, I haven't had sex for years now, and I was wondering how I can increase my husband's sex drive." The doctor smiled and said, "Have you tried to give him Viagra?" The lady frowned. "Doctor, I can't even get him to take aspirin whe he has a headache" she claimed. "Well," the doctor continued, "let me suggest something. Crush the Viagra into a powder. When you are giving him coffee, stir it into the coffee and serve it. He won't notice a thing." The old lady was delighted. She left the doctor's office quickly. Weeks later, the old lady returned. She was frowning and the doctor asked her what was wrong. She shook her head. "How did it go?" the doctor asked. "Terribly, doctor, terribly." "Did it not work?" "Yes," the old lady said, "It worked. I did as you said and he got up and ripped his clothes off right then and there and we made mad love on the table. It was the best sex that I've had in 25 years." "Then what is the problem, ma'am?" "well," she said. "I can't ever show my face in McDonald's again."

I hope that you enjoy reading this, as I truly never did ne thing like this before. I was reading a book, when I just had this feeling that I had to write something about it. So here it is, for all to read.

I don't normally start things like this, as anyone that knows me will tell you. But I was reading a little book today, that has a lot of HEART in it. I don't claim to be "religious" in any way. I also do not claim to be "not religious". But, for some reason, this one little page, put some meaning to a "life" possession that everyone should have, and NOT be told that they cannot do it. Fore in recent years, it has become one of the most LOST things in people's lives all over the world. By the title of this, you should realize by now, that I am Speaking of "HUGS".

Now, you that know me, might read this and say, "no way, this isn't the Kim I know". But, alas, it is. When something inspires me to write, I do, and in most cases, I do it well. Now, about this little book. First off, no, its not a Bible. But, yes, there are scriptural passages in it, and yes, there are thoughts of GOD in it. There are also thoughts from women past & present in this little book.

Most people will say, "The Kim I know, loves to read, but not all the time. Only when it suits her to." And, they would be right. I do love to read, but not all the time. I also know humor, wit, racism, the works, just like any normal person. I know heartache, love, laughter, and yes, even death. Sometimes I wonder just how much of all of this I do know. Of course, anyone would love to know their full potential of knowing things that are sometimes LOCKED away for years.

This one little passage (or story) if you prefer, hits extremely close to home, especially at the present time. It is about "Giving Hugs & Accepting Hugs". You might be asking yourself, why would I claim that hugs are lost. Well, let me put it to you from a MOTHER's point of view.

When I was growing up, we were taught that a hug was a good thing. We were taught that HUGS DON'T HURT. We were taught that a hug was a form of love & friendship from another person to you, and from you to another person. Hugs, over the last 20 years, have became to be known worldwide, as DANGEROUS. Yes, to an extent, they could be. But, when did HUGGING your child, father, mother, sister, brother, aunt, uncle, or any other relative become so much of a danger, that the only way anyone can give you a hug, is over the internet itself.

People think that chain letters are spam, to which most are, I have to agree with that. But, did you ever wonder when you got a hug from someone in the mail, or even in an e-mail, that it could be expressed in so many languages around the globe, and still mean the same thing, no matter what language it was written in?

Here is the little passage (or story), for you to read for yourself. Along with this little passage, is included the quote from the Bible, and also a quote from a well known person. But, this person never thought to put their name on it. This thought, or idea, is signed "Author Unknown". You find that a lot now-a-days. No matter what you read. Somewhere in what you are reading there is a quote or even just a one-liner, that says "Author Unknown".

No-one knows the exact reason why authors would want to remain annonymous, but they do. And, it is their right & privilege to do so. So here is the little passage. You read and decide what you would do with this "letter" I have written.

Let love and faithfulness never leave you...write them on the tablet of your heart." (Proverbs 3:3 NIV)

When is the best time to give a hug
to a friend or family member?
Whenever you can.
And when is the best time
to ask for a hug?
Whenever you feel you need one.

---genuine and heartfelt---
are a physical demonstration
of the love we feel for others.
That's why we should be quick to give hugs
and just as quick to receive them.

Mother Teresa once said,
"Kind words can be short and easy to speak,
but their echoes are truly endless."
The same can be said for hugs.
So do yourself and your loved ones a world-class favor:
hug with abandon---
because you and your loved ones
need every single hug you can get.

A hug is the ideal gift...one size fits all.

There is no picture on this page in the book, so I will not do it any injustice by adding one. This is being sent to you, as my way of giving you a hug, and my way of expressing my thoughts of the MISUNDERSTANDING that hugs have been given in the last 20 years.

Where did HUGS go wrong? They didn't. People did. People gave hugs a bad name, when they started using them to lure children away from safe areas. People gave hugs a bad name, when they started using them to abuse children, and yes, even other adults. People gave hugs a bad name, when they decided that hugs were a good thing to use to MAKE bad situations, out of seemingly harmless situations.

You can do what you want with this. You can pass it on to others. You can trash can it. It don't matter. I felt the need to write something after reading that little passage above. Maybe, if this gets forwarded to anyone else, someone else along the line will think about what I have said. Maybe someone will say, "Now there's a good idea." Who knows what anyone else will say. I don't. And, I don't really care. I just thought the need to write this and to send it.

The rest is up to everyone else. I'm done.
